Our Weekend Away

Carey and I did get away--two weekends ago. (I would have posted sooner, but couldn't get the computer to upload???) We went to Easton & St. Michael's Maryland. At the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum, they had Bay Day. It was their version of Earth Day.They had all kinds of booths, crafts for kids, birds of prey, and of course the museum buildings. It's a very good museum. One building brought you through the history of the area, another the history on bird hunting through bird watching, the Navy Lighthouse, old boats and shipyard, boat artifacts, and another on the history of boating and how it's changed and/or stayed the same through the years.
This is the Navy Lighthouse.
Here, just one of the beautiful boats we saw.
Here Carey takes a try as a real captain...........

Too bad it was on land....heehee. We had a great time, ate crab, crab and more crab. Never by the bushel though. We wore ourselves out in the heat and browsing in downtown St. Michael's. The rest of the cities didn't have much to see. Be forewarned, it's a ritzy area, not a beach town, but boating community. We had beautiful weather and just a great day away. Thanks again to Debbie, Nils, Kirsten & Laura for watching the girls.
